HAMBLE HOUSE - Hampshire

Hamble House is a large group holiday house in a peaceful coastal village between Southampton and Portsmouth, with gorgeous views over the River Hamble. With 8 bedrooms sleeping 16 people, an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, steam room, and a games room with pool and roulette, this amazing property makes a fantastic setting for family holidays, big happy celebrations and self-catering corporate breaks. In the grounds are a lodge and 4 studios giving snooze space for up to 10 more guests at an extra charge per person for a minimum stay of 2 nights (see Extra Beds). There are large landscaped Mediterranean style grounds with statues and a fountain, and several terraces for alfresco dining, plus an all-weather BBQ hut. What more could you want?

On the banks of the River Hamble, the village of Warsash is a popular spot for sailing with its small harbour and marina; there are interesting independent shops including a butchers and a bakers, and several cafes, restaurants and inns. The air is distinctly maritime and as there is access to the river from the garden, you don't need to get the car out if you want to explore. If you fancy a good walk put your boots on and stroll to Swanwick or Lee-on-Solent, or pick up the Strawberry Trail, which is good for cycling too. Catch the pink ferry across the river to Hamble-Le-Rice, a quaint cobbled fishing village where you can go crabbing, or take a leisurely cruise on the water with Hamble River Boat Charter.

There are several attractions within a few miles - Portchester Castle, Titchfield Abbey and The Brickworks Museum should satisfy those with a passion for history; nature lovers will enjoy the River Hamble Country Park and Hook with Warsash Local Nature Reserve. If you have children with you have an afternoon out at Manor Farm & Country Park; further afield you can explore the New Forest and take them to Peppa Pig World or one of the many attractions at Beaulieu. If cars are your thing, that's where the National Motor Museum is, or about an hour way there's Goodwood. Hamble House is a great base if you're going to Southampton International Boat Show or to Cowes Week. Golfers will find several good clubs around these parts, including Skylark Golf & Country Club, cricket fans can catch a match at the Ageas Bowl.

It's only a short drive to Southampton where you can visit SeaCity Museum or the Tudor House & Garden; at Portsmouth you can see and the Mary Rose and HMS Victory at the Historic Dockyard, or go shopping at Gunwharf Quays and admire the panoramic views from the Spinnaker Tower. Winchester isn't far either - see the magnificent cathedral or go to Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium. Catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight for the day, visit Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle or Butterfly World.

This is an area that has something for everyone, which is why Hamble House is great for family holidays and corporate breaks alike. It's always good to see a bit of the local area but if you just want to stay put and make the most of your stay at this amazing large group holiday house, we get that.
