Set in a quiet coastal village near Southampton, Hamble House is a luxury large group holiday house sleeping 16 in 8 bedrooms, with accommodation for a further 10 guests in a lodge and 4 studios within the grounds. Heaps of space and great facilities make for memorable large group stays, for family holidays and celebrations, and self-catering corporate breaks to impress.

Electric security gates open onto a private drive and parking area; step into a wide reception hall where ahead of you is a double sweeping staircase. Off to the left is a spacious kitchen with a walk-in pantry and utility room, straight ahead is the light-filled orangery with a big dining table, soft seating and bifold doors opening onto a large terrace. Being open plan makes this such a sociable space, perfect for gathering together to raise a toast to a special birthday or anniversary.

To the right of the hall is the games room with a pool table and roulette; get your glad rags on and roll those dice!  A little further along is the dining room* and the living room with plenty of sofas and chairs, and a big TV. There’s a short staircase down to the steam room and the spa hall where there’s a hot tub and centre of the room, the heated pool. Bifold doors open wide to let the sunshine in, the feels are all good.

Upstairs to the left of the part-galleried landing are Bedrooms 1 and 2, both with double beds, ensuite shower rooms, and a balcony with outdoor furniture. Bedrooms 3-7 are round to the right of the landing; Bedroom 3 has a super king bed, an ensuite bathroom with a spa bath and walk-in shower, its own seating area and a balcony with river views. Bedrooms 4 and 5 are both double rooms that share a bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower, Bedroom 6 has zip and link beds (super king or twin), a seating area, ensuite shower room and a balcony, and Bedroom 7 has a double bed, comfy seating, and an ensuite shower room. All bedrooms have wardrobe space and TVs. Bedroom 8 is on the top floor and has a super king bed, its own bathroom, lounge area with a TV, and a Juliette balcony with river views.

Just outside the orangery there’s a terrace with outdoor furniture and a solarium; the large gardens and grounds have paths that wind round about and more seating areas dotted around. Stroll along the Victorian walk, enjoy the peace and the river vistas; Hamble House is like a modern version of a coastal country house, a world of your own for group stays to remember.

* The dining room seats 14; there is another table in the orangery that seats 10. The orangery can be set up to seat 16 by utilising an additional table, but note that this must be requested in advance.

Note: There is currently building work underway in the adjacent property. This is evident at the approach to Hamble House, but once you have gone through the gates it feels like a world of your own. Banners have been erected on the garden boundary so the building works are not really visible from Hamble House, other than from the balconies of Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3. Noise is kept to an absolute minimum and there is no work on site at weekends. This should not affect your enjoyment during your stay but it is possible that you will hear/see some evidence of the works.
