Beaverbrook 20 has been sympathetically transformed from centuries old barns to amazing self-catering holiday accommodation for 2-20 guests, with room for 10 more at an extra charge per person. The accommodation is set over two buildings; The Old Granary Barn has 4 bedrooms, an enormous open-plan living space, a games room and living room/movie room. Just across the courtyard are the Tie Stalls, once a milking parlour, now 6 fabulous bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms.

Beaverbrook 20 is very well-equipped and has that blend of style and homeliness that's hard to beat for large group holidays in the country. There's plenty here to keep you entertained whatever your age; the games room has an 8ft American pool table, US air hockey, table football and table tennis, the private spa hall has a heated pool, a sauna and sunken hot tub. Outside in the walled garden there's a Nordic style BBQ lodge where you can gather together beneath the twinkly lights, wrapped up warm in reindeer hides. Toddlers can have fun on the chunky play train, and there's a big patio with bespoke rustic benches, a barbecue and a soft seating area. This luxury holiday house is part of a working farm that's been in the same family for 3 generations; during the war it was owned by Lord Beaverbrook - hence the name. The barns retain their essential rustic character and are built mostly of the local Moolham stone; interiors feature exposed bricks, cast iron wall braces and chunky oak beams. Skirting boards and window sills are made from timber from the estate, and the Hamstone fire surround in the living/movie room makes good use of old gateposts found on the farm! It's such a wonderful mix of traditional charm, contemporary furnishings and modern luxury - there's even individual temperature control in each room and air con throughout.

Beaverbrook 20 is tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Cricket Malherbie close to where Somerset, Dorset and Devon meet. Just across the lane a footpath takes you through the fields to the pretty village of Dowlish Wake where you'll find The New Inn and Perry's Cider. A few miles down the road is the small market town of Ilminster, nice for a mooch about, with mostly independent shops and cafes like The Meeting House and No 57. A little further are Taunton and Exeter, or Clarks Village for the serious shopaholics; if you're a fan of antiques and retro, go to the Antiques Bazaar at Crewkerne, or over to the vintage quarter at Bridport. If historic houses are your thing Forde Abbey, Barrington Court and Montacute are all close by; when the great outdoors is calling, head out into the Blackdown Hills to explore, or spend a day discovering Exmoor National Park.

If you like to be beside the seaside Beaverbrook 20 is only about 30 minutes' drive from the Jurassic Coast so you can spend time on the beach at Lyme Regis and Charmouth, or at the peaceful coastal villages - like Axmouth, Beer and Branscombe. Family days out are easily sorted with attractions like Wookey Hole, Crealy Theme Park, and Haynes Motor Museum all within easy reach, or closer to home, Ferne Animal Sanctuary.
