From Frog Street to Swallows Meadow – a simple name change but that’s all. Otherwise, everything is exactly the same. You’ve probably noticed that some of our large group holiday houses have very unique names. That’s the way we like it, it helps with our marketing. So, in line with that, Frog Street has a new name – Swallows Meadow. And how well it suits because swallows make the long journey here from Africa every summer to build their nests and raise their young. It’s so lovely and peaceful, with views over the fields and the gorgeous Somerset countryside all around. The perfect escape for a family holiday, days away with friends, low key birthday celebrations, and sophisticated hen weekends.
The house is inviting, homely and spacious, with 6 ensuite bedrooms sleeping 12 and room for 2 extra guests at an additional charge each. The large grounds have an indoor swim spa, a hot tub, seating and dining areas, a year round BBQ lodge, and a play area for children. If you want to go out you’ll find walks on the doorstep, country pubs close by, attractions to visit and lots of activities – like alpaca walking, golf, boating and cider tasting tours. The county town of Taunton is only a few miles away, with shops to browse, a good choice of places to eat, and on the edge of town, a bowling alley and multi-plex cinema. Best of all is that the beaches on the coast of East Devon and West Dorset are less than an hour away.
If you’re a smaller group you can still stay here because the house also has a smaller offering – Swallows Rest, which sleeps 8 in 4 ensuite bedrooms but still has all the fabulous features. Come and nest here, maybe not for the whole summer like the swallows, but for a week long holiday, a mid-week break or just a weekend in the country. It’s where happy times are had and remarkable memories made.
