Christmas, New Year’s Eve. It’s a wonderful time of year, isn’t it? Time to gather with friends and family, to catch up with people you haven’t seen in ages, time to come together and share joyful moments. It all takes a lot of organising and if you’re feeling frazzled with the endless lists, the present buying, planning the food and the entertainment, maybe what you need is to take it all away from home to a luxury large group holiday house. There’s not much left for Christmas now, but we do still have some New Year availability…

Hosting Christmas and New Year celebrations isn’t always easy, especially if you have a big family or a lot of friends. Fitting it all in around annual leave and what everyone else is doing can be tricky for a start, and let’s face it, we’re not all fortunate enough to have the space for a large gathering.
Then there’s getting everything ready – apart from putting the decs up, where’s everyone going to sit? Is there table space for everyone to eat in comfort, what about all the prepping and clearing away, the dishwasher working overtime. It helps if everyone mucks in but then you need room in the kitchen, oh, and room for all the coats, and what about the dogs, and clearing up when everyone’s gone home? There’s just so much to think about!

And what about overnight guests? Finding room for them, the hassle of sharing bathrooms – it can be a headache, and maybe all these things are the reasons why there are so many family arguments this time of year; it can all start to grate a bit, the break from your usual peaceful routine. If you’re laid back, a go-with-the-flow kind of person, it’s no bother, after all, it’s only once a year and we all have to make sacrifices sometimes, but even so, for some of us, it can be overwhelming.

Spending New Year’s Eve in a big and beautiful large group holiday house takes a lot of the stress away, and there’s usually plenty to keep everyone, of all ages, happy. Like indoor pools, hot tubs, saunas, games rooms, movie rooms and year-round BBQ lodges where you can toast marshmallows and sizzle sausages beneath the twinkly lights. It’s appealing and it’s why we’re still taking bookings for this New Year’s Eve.

A spacious and well-equipped kitchen can make all the difference, large living rooms with plenty of sumptuous sofas where everyone can sit comfy, wide screen TVs or projection screens so everyone can see clearly, facilities to play music, room to play games. You’ll still have to be organised with bringing food, or booking a grocery delivery slot, and you’ll still have to clear away and load the dishwasher – but there may be more than 1, and there’s probably more oven space, more fridges and freezers, and more room for slicing and dicing and laying out a New Year’s buffet.

And those overnight guests. You won’t be the one stripping the beds and washing the sheets and duvets, and the towels. Staying somewhere else means fewer chores to do, it means you can all spend quality time relaxing and absolutely loving the happy moments.
But the cost, you might be thinking. Well, actually, if you split the full price of a stay between the number of people in your group it’s not expensive, especially for the time of year. Some people jet off into the sun, some stay in hotels or go on cruises, which cost a whole lot more. And you’ve got it all to yourselves – a gorgeous house with all the space you need and fabulous features that are exclusively yours. And the loveliest locations in the Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire or Herefordshire countryside!
So before you throw yourself into organising New Year at home, take a look at our seasonal availability. Think how easy it could be, a big happy gathering of all your favourite people in a very special place. What a wonderful way to welcome in 2026.
