Pennons Park stands at the heart of a huge country estate in South Yorkshire, a very handsome Victorian mansion house that sleeps up to 45 guests in 21 ensuite bedrooms and comes with a hot tub, gym, games room, extensive grounds and wait for it – a ballroom! Staying in a beautiful mansion house on a sprawling country estate – haven’t we all had a little dream like that at some time or another? Well, here’s where that dream moves a little closer…
Pennons Park stands proudly at the heart of its 250 acre estate, surrounded by South Yorkshire countryside, yet within easy reach of major routes. This grand Victorian house comes with enormous helpings of opulence and splendour – a wonderful backdrop to large group holidays and celebrations anytime of year. And when we say large, we mean large. This place has 21 bedrooms, so it sleeps up to 45 guests! Spread over two floors, each one has an ensuite bathroom or shower room, most have glorious views across the parkland.
On the ground floor a wide hall sweeps around both sides of a very grand staircase to a games room/library with a pool table, a formal dining room, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, drawing room, sitting room, gym, conservatory, and a most sumptuous ballroom – all exclusively yours for the whole of your stay. Inside is traditional country house style with antique furnishings, heaps of original character, and plenty of modern creature comforts.
From the house you almost glide outside to a walled rose garden (an exquisite setting for afternoon tea!) and a sunken Italianette garden; at the front of the house, expansive lawns sweep before you, leading to a pond with a fountain. There’s a tree lined avenue and woodlands, a hot tub set in a lodge at the lawn’s edge, peacocks roam proudly, and deer can be spotted at feed.
Talk about celebrating in style! Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, wedding party – whatever, it will be unforgettable. The ballroom holds 150 people by arrangement with the managers, and they work with recommended suppliers, including caterers and florists who can make your celebration just what you want it to be.
The house is also available in its’ smaller guise of Lady Bawtry, so if you can’t quite muster up a huge group, you can have the 10-bedroom suites on the first floor to sleep 22 – everything else, except the second floor.
