Palooza Townhouse is gem, a big fat sparkly one, built within the walls of a 13^th century castle, standing right on the quayside overlooking the River Parrett in Bridgwater, close to Somerset’s achingly beautiful Quantock Hills. 6 ensuite bedrooms sleep 20 for unforgettable holidays with friends and family, girls’ weekends away, elegant hen parties and happy celebrations.

Bright and funky modern interiors are a brilliant contrast to the historic setting – the thick stones walls and a Roman arch; it makes a fantastic backdrop to your holiday pics. A candy-coloured kitchen has a mirror wall that comes into play when it’s disco time; next door is the bar, a tangerine dream with its orange walls. Carry on through to the lush pink and blue movie room/lounge and then the games room. To the side there’s a dining room, and a relaxation zone with a hot tub room, sauna and glam/beauty room, a fusion of flowers and palms and deep purples.

The bedrooms are on the first and second floors, lush and colourful, named after gemstones – like the rich tones of Good as Gold, the opulent orangey-pink of Rubellite and the sumptuous green of Tanzantite. To sleep, to dream, to lazily greet the day.

Step out from the front door and you’re on the vibrant quayside, just a few strides from restaurants and pubs. As you’re in the West Country, it would only seem right to venture out and see something of the countryside this part of the world is famous for; go deep into the Quantock Hills, walk the bracken clad heaths, climb sun dappled coombes, look out for wild ponies and red deer feeding. Head over to the Somerset Coast for fun by the sea, or go and explore the wilds of Exmoor; visit the castle high on the hill above Dunster.
