Cockercombe is a timber-clad holiday lodge set on a private site at the foot of Somerset's Quantock Hills. 6 ensuite bedrooms sleep 14 guests, there's a huge open plan living space, a games area and the icing on the cake, a private indoor pool that's all yours to use throughout your stay, so you can enjoy luxury togetherness any time of year. Light and spacious, fresh and modern, this is the perfect group accommodation for happy family holidays and celebrations, for getting together with friends or a few young families, refined hen weekends and relaxed corporate away days. There are five self-contained lodges on the site, discreetly tucked away behind the trees; each one has its own indoor pool, outdoor space and parking, and each has its privacy with none being overlooked.

Somerset is well known for its beautiful countryside; this is the West Country, land of cheese and cider, and cows, and Glastonbury Festival; ah, but there's so much more so come and spend time here, come and discover it all for yourselves. The Quantock Hills being right on the doorstep gives you all the opportunity you need to get out in the wilds; go and explore, climb up through the sun dappled coombes to the rufty-tufty heaths where on a clear day you can see across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Look out for red deer and wild ponies feeding, pootle about the quiet villages and find a cosy country pub to stop by for a pint of the local brew; the Carew Arms at Crowcombe and The Rising Sun at West Bagborough are both full of charm. You could venture beyond the hills to Exmoor National Park for a day spent among the heather clad moors, the winding country lanes and scenic river valleys; go to Tarr Steps or Watersmeet, make a summit bid on Dunkery Beacon for staggering views that seem to roll on forever, sit and watch the world go by at Porlock Weir. Amble around the medieval village of Dunster - you can get there by steam train with the West Somerset Railway; go to the working watermill, stroll along the leat and take a tour of the ancient castle high up on the hill.

If you like to be beside the sea, go and play on the sands at Blue Anchor or Minehead, or for a totally different kind of beach experience walk across the fields and down to the shores at St Audries Bay; feel the force of the elements against a backdrop of wave cut platforms and striated cliffs. At Kilve you can hunt for fossils on the beach, or spuddle about in the rockpools before you wander back up the lane to The Chantry Tea Room and Gardens for a big fat homemade scones with lashings of jam and cream, washed down with a pot of English tea; perfick.

The county town of Taunton is only a few miles away; go and browse the shops, potter down historic Bath Place, stop for a play on the high ropes at Vivary Golf and Adventure Centre, or for tenpin bowling on the outskirts of town. Plant lovers will adore Hestercombe House and Gardens and The Walled Gardens of Cannington, the young 'uns will thank you endlessly for a day out at Tropiquaria Wildlife Park or Doniford Farm Park; neither take long to get too, but further afield are Brean Theme Park and Wookey Hole with heaps of fun to be had. Come and find your happy at Cockercombe!
