Gooseybank is just a stone’s throw from the Malvern Hills in Herefordshire, tucked away at the heart of a 400 acre organic farm where life ticks by peacefully and all is well. This rambling old farmhouse dates back to the 14th century so it’s a happy mix of age old features (hefty oak beams, original fireplaces, stripped pine doors) and the kind of modern comforts that make large group holidays in the UK hassle free.

Downstairs

Step inside, through the porch at the side of the house to the cloakroom and then into the hall; off the first cloakroom is another cloakroom and a loo. Off the hall are the kitchen, rear porch with laundry facilities, the dining room and living room. The dining room has a long table to seat 14, and an inglenook fireplace with a wood-burner, the living room has sofas to stretch out on, and a big TV for snuggly movie nights.

Just across the courtyard in an oak beamed barn is the games room; saunter across to chill out over a game or three of pool or table football, set a ping-pong challenge and whoever loses does 3 laps of the garden or cooks dinner!

First Floor

On the first floor, off a wide landing are Bedrooms 1-3, a family bathroom with a free standing bath and walk-in shower, and a separate loo. Bedroom 1 sleeps 2 in an emperor size bed and has an ensuite shower room, Bedroom 2 sleeps 4 in either a super king and 2 singles or in 4 singles, and Bedroom 3 has a double and single bed, so sleeps 3.

Second Floor

Bedrooms 4-7 are on the second floor; Bedroom 4 sleeps 2 in a super king or twin beds, Bedroom 5 has a double bed and a small double sofa bed so can sleep 4, Bedroom 6 is a double room sleeping 2, and Bedroom 7 can sleep up to 4 in a super king or twins, and a small double sofa bed. This room also has a ‘snug area’ with a TV. Bedrooms each have their own theme and there are lots of pretty florals and William Morris designs; almost every view is of the garden or reaching out over the fields and hills.

Outside

Adjoining open fields, the huge gardens are the crowning glory of Gooseybank, meandering round and about on different levels with lots of surprises and several seating areas. On a terrace at the back of the house is the hot tub; climb in and sit back as cotton wool clouds drift by above you, notch up the fun vibe with the built-in lights and speakers. Run around, in and out the trees, along the paths, across the lawn, under the pergola; fire up the barbecue and get the steaks a -sizzling, when the stars come out gather round the firepit, swap stories and toast marshmallows.

You can also hire the gathering barn/yoga studio by arrangement with the owner, perfect for celebrations with the chosen few, or for wellness retreats.

Take a gander at Gooseybank and book a stay today, that break you said you’d always have. Here’s where you slow down, reconnect, and make memories to last a lifetime.
