Dancing Hill is an idyllic country cottage to rent for family holidays and celebrations, hen parties and corporate away days. Whether you come for a week long holiday, a midweek break or a long weekend you'll find so much to see and do nearby. There are great places to eat, and right on the doorstep are the beautiful Quantock Hills to explore. Despite the peaceful location the M5 is within easy reach.

Dancing Hill shares its name with the hill where it stands, with panoramic views that stretch out over almost the whole of Somerset and across the Bristol Channel to Wales. What was two centuries old cottages have been lovingly renovated and extended in recent years; the result is a wonderful large group holiday cottage that sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, with room for 2 more at an extra charge per person. Inside is an eclectic blend of modern designer, quirky vintage style and gorgeous original features; there's plenty of space and a large yet cosy living room and a games room. Outside there's a hot tub and a 4m swim spa; at the bottom of the garden, the paddock is a lovely spot to sit and watch the sunset.

Just down the road there's a very well stocked farm shop, Pyne's of Somerset. Go and pile your basket high with local produce, order a hamper for your stay and charcoal for the BBQ. It's a good idea to get stocked in because the chances are you might just want to hunker down and stay put, happy as larks. Should you wish to venture out you'll find plenty round and about; just up the road are woods to walk through and a footpath that takes you into deep into the Quantock Hills. Walk up to Hurley Beacon or Lydeard Hill, climb the sun dappled combes to bracken covered heaths where wild ponies graze, pootle around the lanes to find a cosy country pub for lunch - The Blue Ball at Triscombe and The Carew Arms at Crowcombe are both good.

Put the world to rights over a glass of traditional Somerset cider at Bere Cider Company near Langport, follow the Somerset Space Walk along the canal at North Newton; take to the waters in a kayak or self drive motor boat from Somerset Boat Centre. Look up the landmarks you can see from Dancing Hill and go and find them; Burrow Mump and Glastonbury Tor rise out of the flat landscape of The Somerset Levels and aren't far at all. Whilst you're out and about take in the colourful vibe of Glastonbury, visit the abbey ruins and the tranquil Chalice Well. Spend a day in Wells, visit the glorious cathedral and the moated Bishop's Palace.

Plan a sightseeing trip to Bath to see the Royal Crescent, the Roman Baths and the magnificent abbey. Bristol is good too, with its lively harbourside, elegant Clifton Village and quirky Gloucester Road; climb on board SS Great Britain, make discoveries at We The Curious, walk across the famous suspension bridge. Set off for an Exmoor adventure over the heather-topped moors and along the lush river valleys; stop at Watersmeet or Tarr Steps and then find a little tea shop in Dulverton for cream tea. For days by the sea head to Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea or Blue Anchor. Get some retail therapy at Clark's Village, Taunton or Exeter, have a whole load of family fun at Brean Theme Park or Wookey Hole, take in historic houses and beautiful gardens at Hestercombe House or Barrington Court. Come back to Dancing Hill, take drinks down to the paddock, and watch the sun go down at the end of another perfect day.
