Catch the Pink Ferry across to Hamble-Le-Rice, wander the narrow cobbled streets lined with centuries old cottages; have a waterside lunch at The Bugle or Banana Wharf, then walk it off with a stroll on the common. Hire a boat, kayaks or paddleboards and have a River Hamble adventure.

It’s not far to Southampton where you can delve deep into the story of the Titanic at SeaCity Museum, step back in time at The Tudor House & Garden, or get a big retail therapy fix at West Quays. the other direction is Portsmouth; head down to the famous Historic Dockyards to see the Mary Rose and HMS Victory, go to the top of Spinnaker Tower for astounding views across the Solent, or mooch about the shops at Gunwharf Quays.

There’s a huge choice when it comes to days out with the kids! The likes of Marwell Zoo, Little Woodham Living History Museum, Go Ape Southampton, Manor Farm & Country Park, Rock Up Whiteley and the attractions at Beaulieu are all within easy reach. Get a ferry across to the IUsle of Wight for a day, or closer to home, spend a day by the sea at Solent Breezes Beach, Hill Head Beach, or Lee-on-Solent.
