Holiday Homes for Large Groups

Large group holidays are so much fun! It doesn’t matter if it’s a big family holiday, a break with friends, a corporate stay, or a celebration, if you find the perfect property it’s all fun, fun fun! We have large group holiday accommodation for 8-30 people, so dip in, have a browse; you’ll find cottages, lodges, rambling farmhouses, converted barns, and beautiful country houses, most of them set in glorious countryside in Somerset, Devon, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire, Wiltshire and France. Think peace and quiet, open air – that’s a good starting point.

Of course, if there’s a few of you, it's important that everyone is happy, and that’s something you’ll especially need to think about if you’re all different ages. Well, actually, you don’t need to think about it when you book a large group holiday with Group Stays because we’ve saved you the bother and thought of everything already. You’ll find that nearly all of our holiday homes have a pool, and a lot of them are indoors which means….swimming all year round, rain or shine! Yippee! There are hot tubs and saunas, even a few steam rooms, so you can have your own private spa if that’s what you want; not a bad idea for a frivolous hen weekend.

Not just for the kids cos the Dad’s love it too, a lot of our big holiday houses have a games room; again somewhere to have fun no matter what the weather’s doing; if it’s pouring with rain then let loose your competitive streak and have an in-house games contest – pool, table football, air hockey, table tennis, whatever’s there, get into it, enjoy it.

Something that’s proving to be a big hit with our holidays is the Scandinavian style BBQ lodges, and we can see why. The youngsters like to think of it as a sort of den where they can have some privacy so you might find them sneaking off there, likewise the Mum’s find it a good place for a drink and a quiet chat, but most of all, it’s where you can all get together to enjoy delicious chargrilled food anytime of year, and then snuggle up in the reindeer hides beneath the twinkly lights and play cards, swap stories, and tell jokes late into the night.

If there are younger children in your group then be sure to book a holiday home with a play area; there’s usually a sturdy climbing frame, swings, a slide, and more often than not, a trampoline too. Sometimes you’ll find a football goal, and of course, there’ll be a good sized garden to run about in, so the little ones are happy and they’ve got somewhere to release some of those endless supplies of energy they seem to have! You won’t even have to bring travel cots as the majority of our holiday cottages supply these, along with highchairs and stairgates – convenience and peace of mind, it all helps to take the stress away.

The other end of the age spectrum, we appreciate that sometimes the older folk like to have a bit of peace and quiet now and then, or they might have a different routine than the rest of you, so we even have group accommodation with an annexe or where one of the bedrooms is away from the main part of the house. It’s an arrangement that works well for young families too, or just for people who like their own space sometimes.

We’ve also given much thought to how our holiday houses work for the less able bodied and it’s not so easy when it comes to the older cottages, but our barn conversions and holiday lodges really step up to the mark with level floors and clear pathways inside and out, ground floor bedrooms and wet rooms with height adjustable shower stools and toilet frames, and suction grips; the pools generally have wide steps down into them and are an even 1.4m deep. It all helps the elderly and the less mobile to enjoy every minute of your large group holiday.

And last but probably not least, there’s the dog. Before you even think about packing him off to kennels whilst you’re away, check out our dog friendly holiday homes. There’ll be no shortage of walks, that’s for sure, and all we ask is that you abide by our dog rules. Have a good day out, find a dog friendly pub for dinner, then go back and play ball in the garden; seriously waggy tail stuff.

Like we’ve said, it doesn’t matter what time of year it is, a Group Stays holiday house is perfect in any season; summer barbecues, high tea in the garden, country walks kicking up leaves, and then back to the fireside for a mug of hot chocolate. Christmas and New Year are a dream with Group Stays, and we’ve seen many a happy celebration; what makes it easier is that you can book one of our recommended caterers to come in and cook you up a feast. Take it from us, holiday homes for large groups don’t get much better than this; go on, spoil yourselves with a week long stay, a 4 night midweek break or a long weekend....
