Wylder is a very special holiday house, hidden away deep in the Somerset countryside; 16th century farm buildings have been lovingly renovated to bring you luxury group accommodation for 20 guests in 10 bedrooms. So much creativity and passion has gone into this house and it shows; interiors are an eclectic blend of antique, mid-century and modern, the rustic and bohemian vibes make it easy to relax and enjoy every minute of your holiday.

This is a house for all ages – there’s an indoor pool, a games room/movie room, outdoor table tennis, a tennis court, and 100 acres of spectacular farmland to explore. Even our precious planet earth has been thought about; the pool is spring fed, there are hidden solar panels and biomass heating. There’s so much character throughout the house, with whitewashed floorboards, centuries old timbers rescued from the farm, exposed red sandstone walls, vibrant fabrics and furnishings.

Turn off the lane and wend your way along the track to Wylder; unseen from the road, it’s like another world, where the hubbub of life is left behind. Push open the big oak door and you’re in a hallway that’s filled with natural light; off to the left there’s a boot room, leading on to a utility room and a loo.

Go through to the games room/movie room; to one end there’s a snooker table and to the other, enticing sofas where you can cosy down for a family movie night. Carry on round to the commodious open-plan living/entertaining space with a well-equipped kitchen and centre place, a long table that sets the scene for laid-back dinners and happy celebration feasts. Sofas beckon you to sit comfy, full height doors open onto the Tuscan inspired courtyard and the pool garden; this is a room for gathering together, for happy times you’ll never forget.

Right of the main entrance hall are Bedrooms 1-4 and 2 family bathrooms. Bedrooms 5-9 are up above on the first floor; 3 have ensuite shower rooms, the other 2 share a bathroom. Bedroom 10 (The Hayloft) is hidden away at the top of a secret staircase and has its own shower room and a window that looks down onto the games room/movie room.  All beds at Wylder are zip and link so they can be super kings or twins.

From the kitchen steps lead to the pool room which has infinity views across the fields. Doors open onto the garden where you can dine beneath the pergola with twinkly lights for when the sun goes down. In the courtyard olive trees grow and roses clamber up the walls; there’s outdoor table tennis and a rustic Flower Shack, a lovely spot for morning coffee. Play tennis on the all-weather court, if the sun is shining go down to the pond and row about in the boat, round off a perfect day with a picnic and a game of rounders in the field. There are wonderful memories to be made at Wylder; book your stay today!
