Whitehaven is a big country cottage on the edge of the Forest of Dean for large group holidays and short breaks throughout the year. With heaps of space and fantastic features this is a wonderful place to stay for family holidays and celebrations, reunions with friends and self-catering corporate breaks.

The main entrance opens into the dining room at the front of the house; light and airy, with a big table and a wall-hung TV. Go through to the kitchen, modern country-style with everything you need to take the stress out of holiday catering. If you’re celebrating something special, like a notable birthday, hire one of our tried and tested private chefs to come and cook up a feast. Off the kitchen there’s a large utility room with laundry facilities and a games room with table football.

Next to the dining room is a larger games room, great for a relaxing game of pool; to the left is the living room where you can comfy up on the leather sofas and watch TV; get back from a crisp winters' walk in the woods, light the woodburner and snuggle round with a tray of hot buttery crumpets. The open plan aspect at Whitehaven makes it such a happy sociable space, somewhere you can really reconnect and enjoy being together.

Straight ahead of the games room there's a snug, somewhere quiet to curl up with a book or to sit for coffee and a chat. Next to this is Bedroom 6 with an ensuite shower room and French doors that open onto the garden. All Bedrooms except Bedroom 1 at Whitehaven have zip and link beds that can be arranged as a super king or twins; bed configurations are selected after you have made your booking.

The rest of the bedrooms are upstairs; Bedroom 1 is the largest room and has a king size bed and an ensuite shower room; Bedrooms 2 and 3 have zip and link beds and shared use of a Jack and Jill bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Bedrooms 4 and 5 also have zip and link beds, and ensuite shower rooms.

The indoor pool is in a separate timber-clad building just a few steps from the house and is heated for year-round use. Full height doors open onto the garden and allow indoors and outdoors to be as one on warmer days. Fire up the barbecue, top up your tan on the loungers, hear the shrieks of delight from the play area; the kind of stuff that large group holidays are all about. If the sun gets too hot head to the shade of the dining pavilion to sip a cool drink, enjoy a moment of mindfulness taking in the views; listen to the birdsong from the woods at the edge of the garden. If you’re lucky you might even see deer feeding in the fields. Make it happen, make it a holiday to remember!
