Ramscombe is a timber-clad holiday lodge that sleeps 14 guests in 6 ensuite bedrooms and has the luxury of a private indoor pool that can be used any time of year. This bright and airy large group holiday home is one of 5 spacious lodges tucked away on a small and private site not far from the Quantock Hills in Somerset. All were thoughtfully designed so they aren’t overlooked and face away from each other, giving you privacy for your holiday or short break.
Step through the front door into the hallway and off to the left is the enormous open plan living and entertaining space. To one end there’s a kitchen equipped with all you need to cater for your large group, in the middle there’s a long dining table you can dress to the nines for those celebration feasts; make it extra special by hiring recommended private caterers to come in and do the cooking for that notable birthday or anniversary. At the other end of the room there are enticing sofas and chairs and a widescreen TV; get set for a family movie night, choose a film and snuggle up with big bowls of popcorn to pass round. This whole living space is flooded with light from floor to ceiling doors that run along one side; in the summer you can push them wide open to let the fresh air and sunshine in.
Off to the right of the hall are Bedrooms 1-3; Bedrooms 1 and 3 both have ensuite shower rooms, and Bedroom 2 has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. All the beds at Ramscombe are zip and link, so they can be arranged as super kings or twins, it’s entirely up to you.
Go upstairs and on the mezzanine landing there’s a games area with a football table; off to the right are Bedrooms 4 and 5, and to the left is Bedroom 6, all with ensuite shower rooms. Bedroom 4 has 2 zip and link beds so can sleep 4 people in either 2 super kings, a super king and 2 single beds, or in 2 singles, giving the flexibility for a young family or for 4 older children, dormitory style.
Outside there’s a large patio with garden furniture and a barbecue; right opposite the main house is the indoor pool, all yours for the whole of your stay. Huge bifold doors open wide to bring the sunshine rolling in for a big happy holiday vibe. Get the sausages sizzling, have a game of table tennis or play boules, watch the littluns having fun in the play area. No one’s going to get bored here because there’s plenty to keep you all smiling.
