Pinklet is an absolute delight for any large group stay, be it a big family holiday, a birthday celebration with the chosen few, a sophisticated hen weekend or a self-catering corporate break. The M4 is within easy reach, Bath is just over half an hour away, and London a 2 hour drive.

This big country cottage sleeps 15 in 6 bedrooms; it's a world away from the push and shove of city life. With parts of it dating back to the 16th century, Pinklet oozes country charm and you start to feel at home the minute you step inside. Big sofas invite you to sit beneath low beamed ceilings by the fire, bathrooms are right on trend, a big dining table can play host to happy celebration feasts. Outside is picture-postcard perfect; sugar pink walls topped with a heavy thatch, lawns that slope gently down to the edge of the garden, beyond the fence a stream babbles happily along. On the terrace there's a hot tub beneath a gazebo where you can sit back and soak up the gorgeous country ambience; birds chirrup merrily from the treetops, cows graze in the fields just over the hedge; if you're up early you might even see deer in the garden at first light.

You can walk from the cottage to Seend Locks where there's a very good pub, The Barge Inn, right on the banks of the Kennet & Avon Canal. Linger a while and watch the world go by; see the barges going through the locks, swans gliding on the waters and moorhens scooting about; have a stroll in the woods, go for a bike ride along the towpath.

A little further afield there's a multitude of things to do. Devizes is just up the road; get your bits and pieces, have a look round the museum, follow the Treasure Trail Hunt around the town, and sample the local brew on a tour of Wadworth Brewery. Garden lovers will adore Bowood House and Gardens, Ilford Manor Gardens and Great Chalfield Manor, history buffs will appreciate Lacock Abbey, Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Avebury Henge and Stone Circles, and of course, world famous Stonehenge.

Go to Bradford on Avon and take a narrow boat trip on the canal, have a family day out at Longleat Safari Park or Wookey Hole where there are over 40 attractions, or head off for a day exploring the picturesque Cotswolds. Spend the day in Bath, see the famous Roman Baths, the glorious Abbey, browse the galleries and museums, and when you want a break from the crowds follow the Bath Skyline Walk to Prior Park. Salisbury is good for a day trip too, with its beautiful cathedral and ancient water meadows, or a little further is Bristol where you can go to Bristol Zoo, We the Curious Science Museum and Bristol Aquarium. Go and find the famous Wiltshire white horses carved on the chalk hillsides, tie it in with lunch at a cosy country pub - The Westbrook and The Greyhound at Bromham are both good.
