Hill View is snucked away in the rolling hills at Southleigh only a short drive from the quiet fishing village of Beer and the beaches of the Jurassic coast. This 300 year old dairy has been given a new lease of life as a fantastic large group holiday house sleeping up to 16 guests.
Inside it’s all light and airy with gorgeous quirky interiors that blend rustic, contemporary and industrial style to perfection. Note the secret door in the timber clad wall at the end of the kitchen and the worktop on the central island inlaid with two pence pieces – we love it!
Through the wide hallway there’s a utility room off to the right, and straight ahead is the capacious open plan living space; it’s quite a WOW moment when you walk in for sure. To one end is the seating area with enticing sofas looking out over the valley through floor to ceiling windows, and facing the double sided wood-burner. Beyond is a beauty of a handcrafted dining table that’s perfect for leisurely family meals and celebrations feasts alike. Next to this is the kitchen, very stylish and very well-equipped. So you see, Hill View is a very sociable space where you can very much all be together; happy, happy times.
Bedrooms 1-3 are off the dining area, all with en suite facilities. Bedroom 1 has a bath with an overhead shower, Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have an en suite shower room. Bedrooms 3 has the option of an extra single bed at a small additional charge. Bedrooms 4-6 are through the secret door at the end of the kitchen; Bedroom 4 is another one with the option of an extra single bed and like Bedroom 5, it has an en suite shower room; Bedroom 6 uses the bathroom that’s directly opposite and has a modern free-standing slipper bath, and Bedroom 7 is access friendly with an en suite wet room.
Note that all beds are zip and link so can be arranged as superkings or twins, it’s entirely up to you. Also remember that the whole of the ground floor is wheelchair accessible with even floors throughout.
The garden faces the hills, giving breathtaking views of the East Devon countryside; on the patio is a hot tub, very well placed to take it all in, and garden furniture so you can sit outside and enjoy a barbecue or a quiet drink whilst the sun sets.
