Dustings - Somerset

Dustings is a gem of a large group holiday house that sleeps 16 and is set on a working arable farm in the tiny hamlet of Fennington deep in the Somerset countryside. With a games room, cinema room, play area and hot tub, this is perfect for happy holidays and weekends away for families, hen parties, corporate groups and for celebrations.

Just a very short stroll from the house are the Quantock Hills, a landscape of high rugged heaths, steep wooded combes, rolling fields and dingly dells. Great for walking and cycling, there’s no shortage of friendly country pubs, and perhaps one of the best ways to see the sights is on horseback with Quantock Trekking. The village of Kingston St Mary isn’t far, good for a stroll and lunch at the Swan Inn; a little further is Bishops Lydeard which has a working flour mill, a vintage tea room, a family owned pub and a very good restaurant, Podshavers Barn. From here you can take the steam train to the coast on the West Somerset Railway; spend the day on the sands at Minehead or Blue Anchor, or go and see the medieval castle at Dunster.

Have an outing to Taunton where you can visit the Museum of Somerset, watch a match at the County Ground, play golf or go on the high ropes at Vivary Park. Have a stroll at  Hestercombe House and Gardens, or on the orchards at Sheppy’s Cider, take the kids to Tropiquaria Zoo Animals & Fun, or head off to Exmoor for a day exploring and looking out for red deer or wild ponies; round it off with a stop at a tea room for a cream tea.
