In days gone by, The Granary was used for drying and storing grain, as part of a working farm that had been in the same family for generations. A recent and very sympathetic conversion has transformed this centuries old building into stunning, luxury large group holiday holiday accommodation, with an indoor heated pool, a big hot tub, and a fabulous Scandinavian style barbecue hut.
Bedroom 1, on the ground floor bedroom has excellent disabled access, with French doors opening out onto a patio, and a good sized wet room.
On the first floor are six en suite bedrooms - three with showers and three with a bath and shower; two have Juliette balconies taking in the lovely views.
On the second floor, two further bedrooms with Juliette balconies and shower rooms have shared use of a small kitchenette with sink, fridge and ice box, and kettle. Thought and consideration has been employed here as it's a long way down to the main kitchen!
All rooms have zip and link beds which can be configured to your requirements. The Granary is able to accommodate a further 6 guests at an extra cost - please see our Extra Beds page for details.
The spacious open plan, L shaped living space on the ground floor has a well equipped kitchen to one side, with a breakfast bar to seat 8 and a useful central island with an additional oven and an ice making machine.
This is a very sociable space with a games area right next to it, boasting a pool table and TV with Sky. To the other side is a fabulous handcrafted dining table which comfortably seats 18 guests, and huge comfy sofas, a woodburning stove, and a big TV (ideal for catching that big match or for a cosy movie night).
The whole of the living/entertaining area is flooded with natural light from floor to ceiling windows and doors opening out onto the sunny patio. Warm oak beams and feature brick walls add character and ambience, and the property is furnished throughout in a chic, modern style.
Also on the ground floor is a handy utility/boot room with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, overflow fridge freezer, and separate WC.
The indoor heated swimming pool at The Granary is something else, being located in a good sized pool room with full length doors fully opening out onto the the garden and hot tub. The large garden has a big sunny patio, superb for outdoor entertaining and socialising, with plenty of furniture and a big built in barbecue with ample room either side for preparing and serving food.
If the good old British weather lets you down, you can head for the amazing Nordic style BBQ lodge, where there's plenty of room for all. There is private parking for several vehicles at The Granary, accessed via secure electric gates.
With plenty of in-house entertainment, The Granary has Sky on the two larger TVs downstairs, Sonos Home Sound System in the kitchen, living area, games room and swimming pool and Freeview on all TVs upstairs, as well as a gaming console and DVD player.
There is cosy underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and the first floor, and wifi throughout the property boosted by wireless access points.
The Granary is on the same complex as the Quantock Barns and although both have their own completely private grounds, it is possible to unlock a secure gate allowing them to be shared, which gives accommodation for a whopping 44 people! That's some celebration with all that space!
The Granary is set in a glorious rural location at the foot of the Quantock Hills, on a small complex with further holiday accommodation (Quantock Barns, as above) and a farm shop with a fantastic cafe/restaurant selling an impressive range of local produce. There are also fishing lakes, and right down the far end is a stunning wedding venue.
Note: The site operates a 24 hour CCTV system within and around the public and communal areas in the premises (including Quantock Lakes Wedding Venue and Accommodation) which are used for the following purposes; to protect the health and safety of guests and staff, to protect and manage the premises, and for quality control purposes. By making a booking or visiting Quantock Lakes and Inwood Farm you agree to the use of CCTV on and around the premises.
