Step into the hallway and you’ll notice all the calm feels at Teds Place – it’s so quiet here! Straight ahead are the stairs, on the left is the kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is heritage style and is very well-equipped; there’s a big central island and by the window, a long dining table; this is very much a space where you can gather together for happy, sociable times. From the kitchen there’s a lobby with a utility room on the right, and Bedroom 6 on the left, with a double bed.
On the right in the hall is the living room, large, light and airy, with full height doors that open onto the patio. Plush sofas and a big TV set the scene for family movie nights, or just to curl up and relax, catching up, swapping stories. There’s a wood-burner for the colder months, great to come back to after a wintry walk in the fields.
Go upstairs to a wide landing and Bedrooms 1-3; Bedroom 1 has an ensuite shower room and sleeps 2 in a king size bed; it also has an extra single bed suitable for a child under 16 years, so this makes a good family room. Bedroom 2 has zip and link beds (super king or twin) and Bedroom 3 has a king size. Also on this landing there’s a snazzy bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, and bedrooms 1 and 3 both have access to the glass fronted balcony that wraps round 2 sides of the house. What a spot for your morning coffee! Admire the view, wave to people paddling along the river – a great start to the day! Bedrooms 4 and 5 are on the second floor, along with a shower room. Both these bedrooms have zip and link beds (king size or twin) and Bedroom 5 has full height windows with an outlook of the garden and the river.
Just a few steps from the back door, the huge games room has a pool table, table tennis and an arcade game, soft seating and a big TV; it’s a very cool place to hang out. The garden, on two sides of the house, has a large patio with garden furniture and a barbecue; there are steps down to the lawn and the swim spa, and to one side, a historic pillbox from the Second World War (currently closed).
