If you don’t feel the need to go out anywhere when you stay at Sandfield House, we perfectly understand. This is a large group holiday house with plenty to keep all ages happy and we know you’ll love it here. The setting is tucked away and very private so it’s like a world of your own in the Somerset countryside, miles away from the hubbub of modern life. The views stretch across the fields to the Quantock Hills in the distance.

Walk into the wide entrance hall, come back later and play table tennis. To the left there’s a utility room and WC, to the right is the very spacious living room where light gushes in through a huge bay window.

Straight ahead of the hall is the country style kitchen, a big sociable space that’s very well-equipped and leads on to the conservatory-style dining room; a long table and colourful chairs set the scene for fun-filled family celebrations. This leads round to the indoor spa area where there’s a 4m swim spa and steps down to the cellar where there’s a sauna and showers. Off the spa area and also accessed from the hall is the games room with a pool table, colourful sofas and a big TV.

Upstairs off a spacious part galleried landing are Bedrooms 1-5 and a large family bathroom with a freestanding bath and a separate shower. Bedrooms 1 and 2, both have luxurious ensuite shower rooms, Bedrooms 3 and 4 have shared use of the family bathroom, and Bedroom 5 has an adjacent bathroom. All beds at Sandfield House are zip and link (super king or twin), except for Bedroom 7 which has 2 optional extra guest beds that are great for children (no charge). Bedrooms 3 and 5 also have an extra single bed so can sleep 3. Back downstairs, left of the kitchen a lobby leads through to Bedroom 6 with its own WC and shower room, and doors out to the courtyard and terrace. Bedrooms are all well proportioned, beds are so comfy, and there’s a very unruffled ambience here, so you ought to sleep well.

On the terrace there’s the outdoor pool, heated for use from April to the end of October, all yours for the whole of your stay. There are loungers and garden furniture, an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, and a handy covered area for when the sun gets a bit too much and you need some shade. Laze the days away by the poolside, have a splash about with the kids, get the sausages sizzling; wander round the large grounds where there are sweeping lawns and tall trees. Play hide and seek or tag, do handstands; bring rackets and have a knock about on the tennis court. Like we said, it’s a world of your own; enjoy the seclusion, love the peace and quiet; Sandfield House is one big happy place.
