Step into the big oak framed kitchen, a modern addition that blends perfectly with the original 300 year old cottage; full height doors open onto the terrace, the outlook is of lush and unspoilt countryside. The kitchen is very stylish, with dark grey units and gorgeous burnished brass worktops; it’s very well-equipped so cooking for your large group should be stress free and if you decide to hire private caterers, they'll have plenty of space to work. Straight ahead is the dining room where a big chunky table seats all, to the right is a utility and boot room that leads back round to the kitchen, and to the left is the living room/movie room with inviting sofas and a big old fireplace with an easy-to-use wood-burning stove.
Beyond the living room/movie room is Bedroom 5 which has an ensuite shower room and sleeps 2 in zip and link beds (super king or twin) with room for an optional extra guest bed. A bespoke staircase of huge oak blocks rises from the dining room to the landing; immediately left a short corridor takes you to the main bathroom, with a big walk-in shower and a freestanding bath. Next to this is Bedroom 1, a stunning space with soaring oak timbers, floor to ceiling windows on two sides, and a snazzy ensuite shower room with a marble floor and walls. A double bed sleeps 2 and there’s an optional extra guest bed. Next along the landing is Bedroom 2 which has a 4ft 6” double bed, then Bedrooms 3 and 4, both with snooze space for 3 in zip and link beds (super king or twin) and an optional extra guest bed.
Outside there’s a big terrace with outdoor furniture and a barbecue; if the sun is out to play you’ll need your shades as the garden is all south facing. Be together out there for happy family days, get the steaks sizzling, slip into the hot tub for a relaxing soak or pop into the barrel sauna for a natter.
