La Belle Folly brings you group accommodation with a difference because there aren’t many large holiday houses in the UK (if any) that come with a round tower. But this one does and wow, it’s amazing! This is the result of a very creative conversion of a barn and grain store on a historic farm on the Wiltshire/Somerset border just a short drive from Bath. 9 ensuite bedrooms sleep 23, there’s an outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna and games room. Great for family holidays, days away with friends, weekend celebrations, multi-generation stays, hen dos and corporate breaks.
The House - Downstairs
Step through doors into the Games Room where there’s a pool table and an arcade machine; straight ahead is the living room, gorgeously welcoming with sofas to lounge on, florals and fabrics to delight. To the right is the sleekest kitchen, totally geared up for your large group stay with a big central island, all mod cons and a whopper of a dining table for the best ever celebration feasts. Left of the games room are Bedrooms 1-2, all with zip and link beds (super king/king size or twin); 1 and 2 have ensuite shower rooms, 3 has its own bathroom.
The House - Upstairs
Upstairs are Bedrooms 4-7. These all have zip and link beds (king size or twin) and ensuite shower rooms. Bedroom 7 is an enormous room that’s brilliant for a big family, for friends sharing snooze space, or for older children dormitory style. It’s got 3 beds that can arranged as king size or twins, and 1 single bed, and 2 ensuite shower rooms. The full height glass wall gives far reaching views of the countryside – a great way to kick start your day. On the landing play space comes via a 12ft shuffleboard and arcade games.
The Tower
This is where it could get tricky because you’ll all be wanting to sleep in the tower! Clad in dusky pink steel and fully insulated, it’s a beauty! On the ground floor is Bedroom 8, with an ensuite shower room and a king size round bed to match the shape of the building; upstairs is more of the same, reached by steps that wind round the side of the tower to the separate entrance for Bedroom 9, so both these rooms are self-contained. Full height glass windows on both floors mean, yep, those glorious views.
The Garden
The front of the house is where you do your alfresco stuff – there’s a cooking area with a charcoal BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven, and outdoor furniture. When the stars start twinkling, gather round the firepit, swap stories and tell jokes. At the side of the house there’s an all weather lawn, and wait for it, wait for it… a sauna, a very striking heated pool, made from stainless steel with glass ends (imagine the pics!), and a hot tub to match. So that’s you sorted.
