Slip away from the hustle and bustle to Somerset and the beautiful landscape of Exmoor National Park; Grove House sleeps 24 in 10 bedrooms and is a very special place to stay for holidays and celebrations with the people you love most in the world; time slows down, all that matters is that you’re here, you’re all together.
Downstairs
Turn off the A39, park up, get out for a good stretch and let your holiday begin. Step into the hallway at Grove House, and there on the left is the bar, all yours to get together and play pubs; light the fire, have a pub quiz, a meat raffle (it’s a West Country thing) or do karaoke. Off the bar there’s a tiled conservatory with doors to the hot tub, and there's the games room; wander through to play pool or darts, step out into the courtyard for a drink in the sunshine.
Right of the hall is the living room, all lovely country cosy with panelled walls and a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace; come back and get it going after a wintry walk on the moors, gather round with a plate of hot buttery crumpets. Next along the hall is the dining room a very handsome setting for any celebration feast; round to the left, also accessed from the games room, is the kitchen, equipped with all you need for your large group stay.
From the games room a door leads into the annexe (more later).
Upstairs
Bedrooms 1-5 are on the first floor; 1 and 4 are suites with 2 rooms and ensuite shower rooms, so they work very well for families. Bedrooms 6 and 7 and a children’s playroom are on the second floor.
Bedrooms 11 and 12 are upstairs in the annexe, along with a bathroom; downstairs in the annexe there’s a living room and kitchen. Bedrooms 9 (ground floor) and 10 are in the self-contained Garden Rooms off the courtyard at the back of the house. All the bedrooms are fresh and unfussy country style, with gentle and restful feels; that and the Exmoor air should have you pushing zeds the whole night through.
Outside
At the back of the house there’s a cobbled courtyard with seating and a bbq; to one side is the covered hot tub, straight ahead are steps up to huge lawns surrounded by lush and leafy shrubs and trees. Love those days running about, playing kiss chase and leapfrog, perfecting your cartwheels; there will be fun, there will be laughter, there will be so many happy memories.
