Step into the boot room/lobby at the side of the house; to the left there’s a utility room with laundry facilities, straight ahead is the huge open plan kitchen/dining room, a very sociable space where you can all gather together and chat while dinner’s being prepared. The kitchen has a built-in pantry and a walk-in fridge, the dining area has a beautiful table handcrafted from local oak and a copper bar made especially for Duxhams. There’s soft seating and a woodburner, and for the warmer days, doors that open onto the terrace, with views over the Barle valley.
Go through to the hall where to the right is the living room, all light and airy with French doors onto the terrace, leather chairs and sofas, window seats, and a woodburner. Next door there's a snug with a gorgeously colourful corner sofa and a big TV – perfect for family movie nights. Bedrooms 1-6 are off a long landing on the first floor; Bedroom 1 is the master bedroom, with a notable French influence, vaulted ceilings and an ensuite shower room with a big double shower. Enjoy views of Exmoor’s wooded slopes from the freestanding copper bath in the bedroom. Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have access to a glass fronted balcony, a lovely spot for morning coffee or a sneaky nightcap, and they each have a shower room just across the landing. Bedrooms 4, 5 and 6 all have ensuite shower rooms. All of the Bedrooms on this floor have king size beds, except for Bedroom 6, which has zip and link beds (super king or twin).
Bedrooms 7 and 8 are on the second floor; Bedroom 7 has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and handheld shower, Bedroom 8 is a dorm room with an ensuite shower room; it sleeps up to 5 in a double bed and 3 singles, so it makes a great snooze space for a family or older children sharing.
