Tickety-Boo is such an amazing holiday house for large groups, the result of a carefully considered transformation of what was once the stables on a country estate on the border of Wiltshire and Somerset. This is a house that comes with generous quantities of style and substance, and it’s so much fun! With snooze space for 14 guests, an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, games room and movie room/snug, it’s a fabulous place to stay for holidays and celebrations with friends and family – whatever the time of year.
We love the flip-side living at Tickety-Boo; bedrooms downstairs, and upstairs a large living, dining and kitchen space with room for all. Step into a wide hallway where off to the left are Bedrooms 1-3 and to the right, Bedrooms 4-6. All have zip and link beds that can be set up as super kings or twins, all have ensuite shower rooms with the exception of Bedroom 5 which has a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.
Up above is that big open-plan entertaining space, with comfy seating to one end, and a very well-equipped kitchen and bar to the other. In between is a long dining table for all those happy holiday dinners and celebration feasts beneath the high vaulted ceiling.
Across the private courtyard is the games room with a pool table and table football; right next to it is the movie room/snug with a big velvety sofa to curl up on for film nights. Go through the games room to the pool hall and let the wow factor sink in! This is an awesome room that feels almost like it’s underground; centre place is the pool with a built-in swim spa and hot tub, at the end of the room there’s a sauna. Up above you a curved window gives a view of the sky, on the wall a huge TV gives a view of whatever you want to watch. This is the icing on the cake at Tickety-Boo because it's where this luxury holiday house comes into its own for year-round stays – and just think, private spa weekends… Book mobile therapists to come and pamper you and you’re going to go home with a new glow!
Bedroom 7 is also on this side of the courtyard, self-contained, so great for anyone who values their own space; it has zip and link beds (super king or twin) and an ensuite shower room. Many happy hours will be spent in the large courtyard garden where there’s an all-season lawn, plenty of seating, a gas barbecue, pizza oven and firepit. Enjoy lunch in the sunshine, stay out till it’s dark, beneath the lanterns, gather round the firepit to swap stories and toast marshmallows. Steps take you up to the higher part of the garden where there are views over the fields.
