Pinklet is a gorgeous country cottage in Wiltshire sleeping 15. Dating back to the 16th century there’s a wealth of rustic charm - chunky stone walls, big thick timbers, exposed beams, flagstones and oak floorboards.

Straight ahead is the huge kitchen/dining room, light filled, stylish and well-equipped. There’s a Shaker style kitchen, a big sturdy dining table and bi-fold doors opening onto the terrace. From the kitchen a lobby leads to a ground floor shower room and to Bedrooms 5 and 6; Bedroom 5 has a double bed, Bedroom 6 is a double room with an ensuite shower room.

Left of the porch is the living room, with a beamed ceiling, huge rustic timbers, a flagstone floor, and an open fireplace with a woodburner and original bread oven. Look around and you’ll notice the quirkiness of Pinklet, the adorable wonkiness of uneven walls and floors, just how it should be.

Next to the living room there’s a games room with a pool table, a brick fireplace, a charming window seat, and French doors to the garden. An open-tread wooden staircase leads up to Bedrooms 3 and 4; Bedroom 4 has zip and link beds (king size or twin 2ft 6” beds). Bedroom 3 is an amazing room with centuries old timbers that soar to the pitch of the roof; there are zip and link beds (super king or twin) and a single day bed. The ensuite bathroom has a huge walk-in shower and an old marble topped washstand adapted to hold 2 contemporary wash basins – very creative!

Steps lead to a dressing area where there’s a door onto the landing, also accessed from the main staircase in the kitchen. Off this are Bedrooms 1 and 2; Bedroom 2 has zip and link beds (king size or 2ft 6” twin beds) and its own shower room. Bedroom 1 is a very spacious room with full height windows looking out over the garden to the hill where cows contentedly graze most of the year. This is another room that sleeps 4, with zip and link beds (super king or twin) and 2 singles. The ensuite bathroom has a freestanding bath and a separate shower.

Outside on the terrace there’s plenty of comfy garden furniture; there are lawns and barbecue area and a hot tub beneath a wooden gazebo. To sit out there enjoying a soak on a beautiful summer's day with the trees in full leaf and the birds happily twittering is a dream; the stream trips along just the other side of the fence, squirrels scamper on the lawns, and you might even see deer coming into the garden to feed. To the side of the cottage there’s play equipment for the younglings. One big happy all round!
