Escape to Ducky Bird Island in Oxfordshire for a large group holiday experience you’ll never forget. Imagine what it’s like to stay on a private island in the middle of a lake, accessed only by boat! 8 bedrooms sleep 16 and there’s room for 6 more guests at an extra charge per person.
Downstairs
Wander up through the garden from the private jetty, go in through the lobby and follow the hallway round the corner to the right where a fully equipped kitchen opens onto a large open plan dining/living space. Sofas to sink into, a pool table and table football, a big TV for movie nights, full height doors out to the terrace, and a wood-burner for extra warmth on colder days. The dining area seats all for celebration feasts; own it, dress it, get private chefs in to cater for you.
Off the hallway are a bathroom and 2 shower rooms, a second kitchen/utility room, and Bedrooms 1-5. Bedroom 5 (The Dorm) has room for 6 extra guests in bunk beds and 4 singles (charged per person), so it’s a great room for a family, for friends or older children sharing dormitory style. It has an ensuite shower room, a seating area with a TV, and doors to the garden.
Upstairs
From the entrance lobby, stairs lead to a spacious landing, Bedrooms 6-8, and a family bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower. The bedrooms on this floor have far reaching views across the lake, and Bedroom 8 opens onto a roof terrace.
Outside
The wrap around gardens have so much to keep big smiles on faces all through your stay; perfect your pizzas in the porch in the easy to use pizza oven, cook up an alfresco feast in the outdoor kitchen where there’s a big gas bbq, drinks fridges and a sink. Lounge around on the sunbeds or in the hammocks, hang out in the Wonky Bar, rustic and fun with a bar, drinks fridge, dart board and juke box you can link up with your devices for streaming. Have a game of table tennis, then slip into the hot tub for a soak beneath the island skies. Stroll down to the shoreside, dip your feet in the water, watch the water skiing action on the lake, stay out until the sun sinks slowly behind the horizon, its glorious colours reflected in the water.
This is what holidays are made of; blissful days, peaceful nights, fun and laughter. The memories will stay with you forever.
NB: Swimming in the lake is prohibited.
