Croftview is an enormous contemporary holiday house standing high on a hillside on a private estate, with incredible views of the Somerset countryside; set at the end of a long drive there is secure gated access and plenty of parking. With a games room and a spa hall with a heated pool, hot tub and sauna, this is a wonderful place to stay in all seasons.

Step into the wide hallway where straight ahead are the stairs and a WC. Go left to games room with a pool table, air hockey and snug area; follow a short corridor to the amazing spa hall where the pool takes centre place. To one end of the room there’s a sunken hot tub and sauna, on the wall there’s a huge TV; there are also changing rooms, a shower and WC.

Right of the hall is a vast L-shaped, open plan living space with a long chunky dining table setting the scene for happy celebration feasts. Beyond is the fully equipped kitchen, and round the corner, the lounge area with inviting sofas to sink into and a wide screen TV. On colder days come back to the warmth of the woodburner, cosy up with a tray of hot buttery toast.

Next to the living room another entrance hall leads to a utility room with laundry facilities, and then to Bedroom 1, fully accessible with an ensuite wet room.

The main staircase takes you to Bedrooms 2-9. All have ensuite shower rooms except for Bedroom 7 which has its own bathroom with a freestanding bath with overhead shower. All the beds at Croftview are zip and link (super king or twin); Bedroom 6 also has room for an optional extra guest bed.

On the second floor, accessed via another staircase, are Bedrooms 10 and 11, both with ensuite bathrooms that have freestanding baths and walk-in showers. The first staircase takes you to Bedroom 12, which has an ensuite shower room, and Bedroom 13, with a bathroom that has a freestanding bath and overhead shower. Bedroom 10 has an optional extra guest bed and a double sofa bed, Bedroom 11 has room for an extra guest bed, and Bedroom 12 accommodates an extra guest bed and a double sofa bed, making it an excellent room for a family – note that all extra beds are charged per person. Conveniently, there’s a kitchenette at the top of both staircases on the second floor.

The gardens are at the back of the house, taking in the glorious views. There’s a barbecue and outdoor furniture on the walled patio, steps lead down to lawns, outdoor table tennis and a play area. A path leads to Charlotte’s Web, an enchanting rustic hut built into the hillside, with a firepit and stunning views over the valley. Beyond the garden there's an orchard where chickens live so you can collect eggs for breakfast and pick fruit for your pudding. Happy times will be had at Croftview, memories will be made.
