The Granary - Access Statement

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services offered to all guests/visitors. This statement has been drawn up by the owner(s) of The Granary and therefore Group Stays do not accept responsibility for any omissions or inaccuracies. Introduction

The Granary is a converted grain barn that sleeps up to 24 guests in 9 ensuite bedrooms. There's an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, Nordic style BBQ hut and outside dining area. 

Pre-Arrival

By train - The nearest train station is at Bridgwater, 8.4 miles away. Taxis are usually available from the station.

By bus - The No 14 Bus runs from Bridgwater to the clock tower at Nether Stowey, less than a mile away.

By car - You will find detailed directions in your check-in information which can be viewed after you have made a booking.

By Taxi - We recommend To and Fro Travel, Bridgwater. Tel. 07597 989737 or 01278 671460.

Key Collection, Welcome and Car Parking

The key to the property is held in an external key safe next to the main entrance door. Details of the key safe combination will be given prior to arrival.

All keys are the responsibility of the rental guests and we advise that you always use the key safe during your stay.

All guests will be welcomed by a member of the accommodation team and will be given a tour.

There is a private tarmacked, long sloping driveway to the entrance gates.

There is room for at least 7 cars inside the property boundary and an additional 4 spaces directly outside the main gates.

The paths to the front door are well lit from dawn to dusk.

Equipment: Note that there is a wheelchair ramp available at The Granary and a shower chair for use in the ensuite wet room for Bedroom 1. If either of these are required please remember to request them when selecting your bedroom configurations.

Gravel meets flagstones path all on one level with a 5" step into property.

The width of front door is approx. 3ft. with a 5" step.

There are laminate floor tiles and sensor lighting in the front lobby.

The ground floor is open plan with laminate floor tiling and underfloor heating.

Bedrooms - Ground Floor

All bedrooms have zip and link beds that can be arranged as super kings or twins.

Bedroom 1 - accessed via a hallway from the ground floor living area through a door 830mm. The room measures 12ft x 17ft and has laminate floor tiles. There are patio doors with a 5" step down onto flagstone patio terrace. The room is well furnished with a wardrobe, dressing table, two bedside tables with lamps, a wall mounted 32" TV, landline phone, and hairdryer. There is an ensuite wet room that measures 6ft x 7ft narrowing to 5ft x 4ft. It has an overhead shower and handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2 - measures 18ft x 19ft and has a laminate tiled floor. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, recessed ceiling spotlights, and a wall mounted 32" TV. There is a 5" step up into the ensuite shower room which has an overhead shower and a handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 4 - laminate floor tiles. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, recessed ceiling spotlights, and a wall mounted 32" TV. The ensuite shower room has an overhead shower and a handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 5 - laminate floor tiles. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, recessed ceiling spotlights, and a wall mounted 32" TV. The ensuite bathroom has a jacuzzi bath, shower cubicle with overhead shower and handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 6 - laminate floor tiles. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, a large chest of drawers, a blanket box, day bed (charged extra if used to sleep an additional guest), recessed ceiling spotlights, and a wall mounted 32" TV. The ensuite shower room has an overhead shower and a handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 7 - laminate floor tiles. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, recessed ceiling spotlights, a large chest of drawers, a blanket box, an optional extra guest bed (charged), and a wall mounted 32" TV. The ensuite bathroom has a jacuzzi bath, shower cubicle with overhead shower and handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Stairs to Second Floor

Carpeted staircase to landing and kitchenette area with kettle, sink, and undercounter fridge. Off the landing are Bedrooms 8 and 9.

Bedrooms - Second Floor

Bedroom 8 - laminate floor tiles. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, recessed ceiling spotlights, a large chest of drawers, and a wall mounted 42" TV. Also in the room is a freestanding roll top bath with a mixer tap. The ensuite shower room has an overhead shower and handheld shower, a basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 9 - laminate floor tiles. There's a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bedside cupboards with lamps, recessed ceiling spotlights, and a wall mounted 42" TV. Garden

Right outside the house is a large paved terrace which can be accessed from the open plan living area. There is a 4 burner gas BBQ with a grill and 2 hot plates, a sink, an outdoor bar with stools, and plenty of outdoor furniture.

On the lawn is a children's play area with two large canvas roof platforms with a look out, swings, a tyre swing, rope ladder, slide, and climbing wall.

BBQ Lodge

Accessed via a short gravel path. There is fixed seating around the inner perimeter, and a central BBQ/ charcoal fire pit with a swing-out grill & rotisserie spikes.

Swimming Pool

The pool hall measures 39ft x 27ft and has pool lighting, and recessed ceiling spotlights. The pool size is 28ft x 15ft with an even 4ft depth.

The pool surround is tiled and measures approximately 9ft, 7.75ft, 5ft & 2.5ft.

2 large sliding doors (11ft open width) open onto the terrace where the hot tub is sited.

Hot Tub

The hot tub is sited on a terrace measuring 39ft x 18ft, with garden furniture and wall lighting. The hot tub itself is 9ft x 7.5ft and is 2.5ft deep. It seats 6 adults and is accessed via a 2 step stool.
