Tucked away on a private estate, surrounded by glorious Somerset countryside, Holemoor Stables sleeps 18 people in 9 ensuite bedrooms. A large open plan living space, private indoor pool, games room and large grounds give you something for all ages and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy luxury togetherness in what feels like a world of your own away from the push and shove of modern life. This large group holiday house is an amazing place to stay any time of year for big family holidays and celebrations with your loved ones.

The setting is so peaceful, with birds twittering merrily in the hedgerows, and the views out over the open fields and rolling hills are something you won't ever tire of. There are country walks on the doorstep and close by you'll find excellent family attractions, quiet market towns to browse and great places to eat. Get up early and fill your lungs with fresh country air as you set off across the fields to the village for fresh bread and a newspaper; go and find a welcoming country pub where you can tuck into hearty homemade food and sample the local brew - The Five Dials at Horton, the Cotley Inn at Wambrook and The Haymaker at Wadeford (walking distance!) are all good.

The beaches of the Jurassic Coast are only half an hour away for days by the sea; Charmouth is great for fossil hunting and rockpooling, at Lyme Regis you can stroll along the harbour to the Marine Aquarium, see the fascinating displays at Dinosaurland Fossil Museum or try catching your supper on a mackerel fishing trip, at Beer you can go to Pecorama and Beer Quarry Caves, then have crab sandwiches at Ducky's Beach Cafe. If you fancy a browse around the shops, try one of the local market towns - Ilminster, Crewkerne and Langport each have their charm, or go to Taunton where you can visit the Museum of Somerset, play on the high ropes at Vivary Golf and Adventure Centre, or go ten pin bowling on the outskirts of town. If you're a serious shopaholic then Clark's Village near Street should suit you, with bargains galore from big name shops.

Holemoor Stables makes a brilliant base for family days out; Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum are both within easy reach. Go to colourful Glastonbury, climb the Tor and see the glorious Abbey ruins; have a wander round Wells, take in the cathedral, the Bishop's Palace and the cobbled Vicar's Close. History buffs and garden lovers will enjoy places like Forde Abbey, Barrington Court and Montacute House. You could take a day trip to the city - Bath and Bristol aren't that far and in the other direction Exeter is easily reached; see the Gothic cathedral, take a tour of the medieval Underground Passages beneath the streets, go and have fun at Clip 'n' Climb. If you have a thing for the great outdoors pootle about and discover the unique watery landscape of the Somerset Levels, where you'll find tranquil nature reserves that are rich in wildlife. Take a picnic to nearby Castle Neroche or Ham Hill Country Park; both have panoramic views of the Somerset countryside. Take your pick - there's a lot to choose from!

The owners of Holemoor Stables live on the estate, so they're about to help with anything you need. They used to run a racing stable here and back in the 90's they turned out a Welsh Grand National winner, Kendal Cavalier. Now they turn out happy guests who come back year after year - and it's easy to see why; Holemoor Stables is just such a wonderful place to stay.

"10/10 - 60th Birthday celebration with friends. Wonderful house: we stayed in, there was plenty to keep us occupied with board games, cards, the games room and swimming pool!! Great facilities, good location. In fact faultless. Catered meal by Gayla was fantastic. We hope to return. "
