Flossy Brook is a purpose-built holiday lodge that sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms, with room for 2 more guests at an extra charge per person. Inside the house is spacious, inviting and stylish; floor to ceiling windows flood the living area with natural daylight, underfloor heating gives a warm and homely feel, with a woodburner for extra warmth on colder days.
Step into the hallway and off to the left is the commodious open plan living space with a well-equipped country style kitchen to one end; creating a big celebration dinner won’t be a problem here and whoever is doing the cooking won’t be left out of the fun because it’s such a sociable space. There’s a chunky dining table with room for all to gather round and raise a toast to that very special birthday or anniversary, at the other end of the room there are big fat sofas to sprawl on and a widescreen TV; perfect for family movie nights, snuggled together with generous bowls of popcorn to share.
Also off the hallway is a WC and to the left is Bedroom 1 which has an ensuite wet room. To the right is the indoor heated pool with room on two sides for loungers, and full height windows overlooking the garden. Get up early and swim a few lengths before breakfast, have a late nip before turning in for the night, spend time splashing about with the family.
Upstairs are Bedrooms 2-5; all beds at Flossy Brook are zip and link so you can have them arranged as super kings or twins. Bedroom 2 has an ensuite bathroom with an overhead shower, Bedroom 3 has its own bathroom with an overhead shower, and accessed via a separate staircase, Bedrooms 4 and 5 have shared use of a bathroom with an overhead shower. Bedroom 5 makes a good family room as it has two single beds as well as the zip and link. These rooms all have a wonderfully restful feel, so getting a good night’s sleep shouldn’t be a problem. On the mezzanine landing there’s room for 2 optional extra guest beds (charged).
The south facing garden has a large patio with garden furniture and a barbecue; this leads onto a huge lawned area so it’s easy to keep an eye on the little ones running about and having fun. There’s also a play area where they’ll be happy as crickets on the climbing fort and trampoline, and a wildlife area with a fenced pond. Flossy Brook is a wonderful place to stay any time of year; in the autumn sit beside the woodburner with a hot drink after a country walk in the Blackdown Hills, spend a summer's evening relaxing on the patio, drink in hand, watching the sun go down.
