CCTV at Large Group Holiday Houses: What You Need to Know

Some of our holiday houses may have CCTV in place, although not all properties do. If cameras are present at your chosen house, this will always be clearly shown on the Facts A–Z page, as well as included in the Terms & Conditions you agree to when booking.

In most cases, CCTV only covers the outside of the property, such as the entrance, driveway, and parking area. It’s there to help keep guests and the property safe, and to deter any unwanted visitors—especially during quieter times of the year when the house may occasionally be unoccupied.

There’s no need to worry, as CCTV is not actively monitored. Any recordings are automatically deleted after a maximum of 30 days, and all systems fully comply with privacy and data protection laws. Only in very rare circumstances—such as a serious safety concern—would footage ever be reviewed, and strictly for lawful purposes.

Overall, CCTV is there simply for peace of mind, not to watch over your stay. The best thing to do is relax, enjoy your time away, and make the most of the house.
