You might well fall a little in love with Luntley Court; this old manor house is so full of charm and character. Wonky walls, leaded windows, wood panelling, ceiling beams and centuries-old wall timbers sit well with the modern facilities, and it feels so homely. 6 good sized bedrooms sleep 18, there’s a games room and a large garden with a hot tub and football goals.

Go through the gate at the side of the house and into the utility room, somewhere to dry the dogs and leave your muddy boots after a walk in the Herefordshire countryside. In the corner of the room stairs rise to the snug/TV room where part of the original wattle and daub wall is exposed. Spend quiet moments here reading or watching your favourite soap; older children and teenagers might well choose to hang out here.

Step up from the utility room to the large kitchen, with comfy seating to one end; in true country style there’s a big Aga, but if that’s not your thing, there’s also an electric cooker and hob. The adjacent dining room forms part of the original manorial hall; to one end French doors open onto the terrace, up above is a galleried landing and in the middle a long table for your happy holiday dinners. The hallway runs almost the whole length of the house and if you pull open the big old front door (over 400 years old!) you’ll find a porch with built-in benches. In the summer this offers respite from the heat of the blazing sun.

Next to the dining room, the spacious living room has plenty of sofas and chairs to put your feet up and watch TV; there’s a feature fireplace (not in use) and a large window overlooking the garden. Next door is the games room with a snooker table, and an inner lobby with the second staircase.

Both staircases take you to the long part-galleried landing on the first floor and to Bedrooms 1-4. Bedroom 1 is at one end of the house on a slightly lower level; it makes a great family room as it sleeps 4 and has an ensuite bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower. Bedroom 2 also sleeps 4 and next to it, Bedroom 3 sleeps 2; across the landing there’s a bathroom with a bath and separate shower, and Bedroom 4 - a suite with two interconnecting rooms that each sleep 2, and an ensuite bathroom. Next to Bedroom 2 are stairs to the second floor where there’s a spacious landing, Bedrooms 5 and 6 and a WC. These bedrooms, up in the eaves of the house, both have twin beds.

The garden is to the side and back of the house; from the side there are views across open fields and of an old dovecote. While away the hours playing football with the kids, soaking in the hot tub and dining outdoors. Explore the wooded area and the wider grounds where there’s a pond and a paddock. Times to enjoy, times to remember; book your stay at Luntley Court today.
