Set on a private lane, Frog Street is a centuries old Somerset longhouse, full of country character inside and out. Step in through the porch to a bright and airy dining room, with window seats, exposed stone walls and chunky ceiling beams. In the middle, a long table and colourful chairs set the scene for scrumptious holiday feasts.

To the left is the farmhouse style kitchen, light and airy, and well-equipped to take any stress out of catering for your large group holiday. By the window there’s a quiet spot to sit for morning coffee; if you’re lucky, you’ll see deer feeding in the fields. To the right of the dining room is the living room, with big leather sofas, a TV, and the original inglenook fireplace (not in use). The far end has original Jacobean panelling, a notable feature of the house. Next door is the games room with a 3 in 1 table for pool, air hockey and table tennis, beyond this a lobby leads out to the covered terrace, to one of the staircases, and to Bedroom 6, which has an ensuite shower room. This room sleeps 2 and has room for an extra guest bed (charged).

From the living room stairs lead to a long landing and to Bedrooms 1-4. Right at the end is The Orchard Suite, where Bedrooms 1 and 2 interlink via a dressing room, and a shared bathroom with a free-standing bath and corner shower. This suite is fantastic for families as the two rooms sleep 4 with the option of 2 extra guest beds in Bedroom 1. Although Frog Street has room for 3 extra beds, insurance restrictions allow only 2 per booking, and these are charged extra per person.

Along the landing is Bedroom 3 (The Garden Room) with a king size French bed and an ensuite bathroom with an overhead shower. Next to this is Bedroom 4 (Willow Room) which sleeps 2 and has its own shower room.

The other staircase takes you to Bedroom 5 (The Snug Room) which sleeps 2 and has an ensuite bathroom with a roll top bath and separate shower. Apart from Bedroom 3, all bedrooms have zip and link beds that can be arranged as super kings or twins.

At the front of the house there’s a covered terrace with outdoor seating, a lovely spot for breakfast or lunch, or just to sit for coffee and a quiet chat. Opposite the cottage a rose covered rustic arch leads to a large patio with garden furniture beneath a pergola; a short path leads to the all-season BBQ lodge, which has a very handy integral kitchenette. There’s a big lawn to play on, with swings and football goals, and the icing on the cake, a spa lodge with a 5m swim spa and changing area; out on the decking there’s a hot tub and more seating. Relax with the fresh air and quiet countryside all around you, make very special memories.
