Pull up and park, jump out and take in the full glory of this dome roofed holiday home, clad in cedar from LongleatForest. There is a distinctly welcoming feel the minute you step into the wide hallway; light and airy, oak flooring, stairs rising to the side. To the right is the spacious kitchen-diner where a very modish kitchen is well equipped for creating a scrumptious feast; glittery granite worktops, an electric range with a double oven and 5 ring induction hob, a huge American style fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and check this out – one of those hot taps so you don’t have to wait for the kettle to boil when you want a hot drink. In the dining area is a long chunky table and matching chairs to seat your whole party; a double sided wood-burner (logs supplied) keeps you warm in the winter when you need a little more than the underfloor heating, and to the side is a picture window framing the view of the field across the track and the open countryside beyond.
Off to the left of the hall is Bedroom 5, fully accessible, with a door through to the big wet room. Bedrooms 1,3,4 and 5 have zip and link beds so can be arranged as super kings or twins, and there’s plenty of wardrobe space in each room, and a Freeview TV. A door continues to a utility room (also accessed from the hall) where there’s a washing machine and tumble dryer, a fridge and table football. A door takes you out to the garden, and another leads to Bedroom 6 which has a double bed; these interconnecting rooms provide a great set up for a family – Mum & Dad in one bedroom, kids in the other, and the big wet room to share.
Straight ahead from the hall is the sitting room; calm and capacious with big plump sofas for you all to sprawl on when you’re watching a movie or the rugger on the widescreen TV; big windows and French doors let the daylight flood in; oak floors and a well chosen rug add a homely touch, painted steel girders bring a contemporary twist, and if you fancy some extra warmth you can light the double sided wood-burning stove between this room and the dining room. Have a game of pool, open the doors wide on hot days and step out onto the patio to soak up the sunshine.
Upstairs is a spacious landing; follow it round to Bedroom 1 where there’s an additional bed (charged extra) as well as the zip and link, and a roomy ensuite with a walk-in rainfall shower. Stay in bed with a cup of tea each morning and admire the far reaching views; what a way to start the day.
To the right of Bedroom 1 is the family bathroom, ample in size, with a free standing contemporary bath and a corner shower. Along the landing are Bedrooms 2-4; big comfy beds make for a good nights’ sleep, aided by restful neutral décor with just the right amount of colourful touches.
At the back of the house is the enclosed garden; fire up the barbecue and have lunch alfresco beneath the sunshade, relax in the hot tub whilst your sausages are sizzling, just take in that clean country air. Time to unwind and make memories to last a lifetime.
