Dating back to the 17th century, Jurston Barn is a wonderful blend of bygone charm and up to date facilities. You're bound to love it the moment you walk in! It's got everything you need, being very well-equipped, attractive, spacious and welcoming, with stone floors and the warmth of underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, and cosy central heating upstairs. Superb for in-house entertainment, there are televisions in all bedrooms with larger screens in the living room and the games room, and the house has Sky, WiFi, and an iDock.
Flooded with natural light, huge double doors, originally used to allow in the hayricks, are now glazed from floor to ceiling and help to form an impressive glass-fronted entrance, whilst the dining area, with a table seating up to 12 guests, has a stunning glass roof.
The L shaped living/entertaining space has a handcrafted kitchen at one end boasting a large range cooker and inbuilt appliances, including a big larder. It has all you need to prepare and cook a meal to tantalise your party's tastebuds.
In the middle of this vast L-shaped space is the dining area, leading on to the big comfy corner sofas; all in all, a huge sociable room with plenty of space for everyone to gather. Also on the ground floor are the 3 downstairs bedrooms, 2 with ensuite wet rooms and 1 having a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.
At one end of the large games room are more relaxing sofas and a contemporary style woodburning stove to give a cosy glow and extra warmth at those chillier times of the year; at the other end there's a pool table and table football, and beyond this is a staircase leading to a lovely snug area on a mezzanine floor.
A staircase from the dining area leads to 3 double bedrooms, all with crisp linen and ensuite bathrooms; 2 of these have showers and 1 has a bath and an overhead shower.
All of the bedrooms at Jurston Barn have zip and link beds which can be configured to superkings or twins, according to your requirements.
You'll love the outlook from Jurston Barn; to the north are uninterrupted views across to the Brendon and Quantock Hills. The picturesque Blackdown Hills can be seen in the distance from the south of the property, with an immediate outlook over a charming parterre garden. Between the pool and the house is largely laid to lawn with shrubs and a wooded part, and for the little ones, a great childrens play area with swings, a slide, a climbing frame and a trampoline.
At the right time of the day, the patio is quite a suntrap, and perfect for enjoying the weather, with tasteful garden furniture and a barbecue. Just off the kitchen is a handy utility room and WC with the pool house beyond this; the pool is put simply, quite fabulous, measuring 10x5m with an even depth of 1.2m, and a useful changing room with a shower and WC. Outside the pool house is a super sunken hot tub - imagine just sitting back in this and gazing up at a night sky studded with glistening stars...
