Halse Water House is chocolate box stuff: an old and pretty house in an idyllic setting. As you go through the gate, a gravelled driveway leads to a large turning circle with off road parking for several vehicles. A large garden and a further 5 acre paddock offers plenty of outdoor space to play and relax, or to enjoy the gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside.

To the rear of the property is an attractive courtyard area with a wonderful heated outdoor dining pavillion with plenty of seating, and there's a year round hot tub with room for 8 people. Just imagine being in such tranquil surroundings, lying back in the hot tub gazing up at a sky full of stars? Absolute bliss!

The country style kitchen is spacious and well equipped for cooking up a delicious celebratory feast, with the choice of a traditional Rayburn to cook on, or an electric oven and hob.

If cooking's not your thing whilst on holiday, the owner will happily provide hot homecooked food for your arrival, or come in and cook a celebratory meal to be served in the dining room. Go on, spoil yourselves!

The dining room is utterly charming, with a window seat and an inglenook fireplace housing an attractive, traditional style electric stove to give you added warmth when it's chilly. A big dining table seats 12 - perfect for a special dinner.

Off the hallway is a commodious, light and airy living room (for safety reasons, the open fire place seen in the photograph below has since been replaced by a homely electric wood burning effect stove), and beyond that a cosy snug - the perfect place to curl up and read a good book or to do a bit of woolgathering.

If alfresco dining is more your style, you'll love the pretty outdoor pavillion - it seats all 12 guests and you can enjoy the fresh air and garden views whilst you eat. It's even heated, so you don't necessarily need to put jackets on or rush indoors when the sun's gone down; you can stay outside under the stars til the small hours.

There are 6 bedrooms at Halse Water House; 5 of these are in the main house, sharing 2 bathrooms. Comfy beds and all that fresh country air are all you need for a good night's sleep.

The other bedroom is in a self contained annex which has an en suite shower room, as well as its own kitchen area, and living space. Perfect if you're planning a holiday to include grandparents - they can join in the fun but have time in their own zone if they need it!

Sitting in a large garden with a 5 acre paddock, this property really is fantastic for all ages. Plenty of space for the youngsters to run about and let off steam, and ample opportunity for the grown ups to relax. The river frontage is particularly gorgeous - just imagine sitting on the bank watching dragonflies hovering, or enjoying a tipple whilst the sun sets over the rolling fields..... This is what holidays are all about; a chance to get away from it all and unwind.
