Flossy Brook

Luxury holiday lodge in Somerset sleeping 12 people, with in-house heated pool, table football and outdoor play equipment.

Flossy Brook welcomes well behaved dogs - after all, why would you want to leave your favourite pet behind when you're spending time regrouping and having a great time with friends and family? In such a beautiful rural area there is no shortage of enjoyable walks right on your doorstep, whether it's a leisurely amble or a twelve mile hike, so your fourlegged friend is guaranteed to have plenty of good exercise.

Close by you can explore the glorious countryside of the Blackdown Hills, with a network of footpaths and bridleways through some truly breathtaking scenery, with rolling hills and stunning views. Within a few miles are the beautiful Otterhead Lakes, as well as the anicent hill fort of Castle Neroche, and Staple Common, with trails through such diverse terrain as woodland paths, nature reserves, fields and forests. To cap it all, most of the pubs round these parts are dog friendly, so you don't have to miss out on those all important refreshments after your walk; try the Holman Clavel, just a few miles up the road, the Greyhound Inn at Staple Fitzpaine, or the Half Moon at Clayhidon.

Take your pooch out into the wider area with you; how about a day spent rambling over the moors in Exmoor National Park? You could take him down to Tarr Steps for a swim in the River Barle, or for a stroll along the river at Watersmeet; if you fancy something more strenuous go for a hike up to the top of Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor, or go and spuddle about at Porlock Weir where there's a dog friendly beach. The Quantocks are good for walks too if you want a whole day of it; climb up to Wills Neck and admire the views over to the Bristol Channel; you'll feel you've earned a pint at The Blue Ball Inn at Triscombe after that! Walk up Hodders Combe or Holford Combe to the bracken clad heaths and then come back down through the woods for refreshments at the Plough Inn; park in the car park at East Quantoxhead, walk along the cliff and through the fields to Kilve where you can have a slice of homemade cake at Chantry Tea Gardens. If your furry friend likes a swim or to paddle along the shore, head for some of the charming beaches on the West Dorset coast just a 30 minute drive away - Lyme Regis and Charmouth both have year round dog friendly areas. On the East Devon coast , a similar distance away, Axmouth Harbour beach is nice. When you get back to Flossy Brook, a little play in the garden or a cosy night indoors is sure to send your faithfull friend off for a good night's sleep.

Note: Two dogs are welcome at this property and must be added as a Chargeable Extra once you have completed your booking.
