Go to Bradford on Avon and amble along the river to the medieval Tithe Barn, hire bikes and cycle along the towpath of the Kennet & Avon Canal to The Cross Guns at Avoncliff, or climb on board the Barbara McLellan Trip Boat for a leisurely ride along the waterway.

At Bruton you can see the latest art exhibition at Hauser & Wirth, go for lunch at The Chapel and wander up to the dovecote on the hill. Just outside of town is The Newt, a beautifully restored country estate where you can stroll around the gardens and book a tour to see how they make cyder from their own apples. Spend a day in Bath taking in the delights of this elegant Georgian city; see the Roman Baths, the abbey and the Royal Crescent, browse the art galleries and museums, take time out on the Bath Skyline Walk. Have a family outing to Stonehenge or Longleat Safari Park, uncover the gruesome history of Farleigh Hungerford Castle, soak up the tranquillity of Nunney Castle and Ilford Manor Gardens.
