Summer Cottages and Large Holiday Houses

Well, well, well, what a glorious summer we're having! That big old sun is beating down on us and it's all rather lovely; just right for getting away to somewhere nice in the countryside - forget the airport queues and the crowded beaches, go for something altogether more peaceful, where time is your own and you've got all the best facilities to yourselves - swimming pools, hot tubs, games rooms, even saunas and steam rooms, BBQ lodges and for the young 'uns, play areas. That's exactly what you'll find with Group Stays - amazing properties that sleep 8-30 people, but be warned, you might not want to go home!

Sun, sun, sun, who'd have thought it! A proper English summer, everything out in its greenery, soaring temperatures; perfect weather for a holiday, isn't it? If you don't mind queueing up with your suitcases, the airport transport and busy hotels, well, don't let us stop you, but personally, we're all for holidays in the UK, and when you take a closer look at our fabulous large group holiday houses and cottages, you'll see why, athough we do have a beauty of a chateau in France that sleeps 15 guests and has 23 acres of totally private grounds; dreamy days by the river, in the fruit gardens, and on the terrace where there's a saltwater pool. Other than that the majority of our properties are set in beautiful unspoilt countryside in Somerset and Devon, quite out the way but generally near enough to the shops so if you need a pint of milk you can easily pop out to get one. You'll have peace and quiet and seclusion, and you certainly won't be overlooked by anyone.

A lot of our large holiday homes are within easy reach of the Somerset and North Devon coast, or the world famous Jurassic coast, and that's a lot of diversity; there's wide golden sands for good old fashioned bucket and spade fun, some of the best surfing beaches in the West Country, quiet tucked away coves that are great for lazy picnics, wild windswept beaches, and so much you can do. Think watersports, mackerel or deep sea fishing trips, rockpooling, fossil hunting, fish and chips on the harbour; just what summer holidays in the UK are made of.

You might even fancy a summer break in the city, in which case you should check out Pitmaston House in Worcester; an imposing property with the most amazing light filled conservatory that doubles up as a huge living/entertaining space, and outside there's a swim spa, a trampoline, and a wonderful dining pavilion with a barbecue, firepit and pizza oven; sit out there beneath the fairy lights on a balmy evening, chatting away til the small hours, then next morning get up and go and see the cathedral and  wander round the market. Not far from Bristol is Henfield House, the perfect place to get back to after a day in the city; explore the Victorian docks, Georgian Clifton Village, have a family trip to Bristol Zoo, see SS Great Britain, walk across Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge, then go back and relax in the pool, hot tub or sauna before a relaxed barbecue in the pretty garden.
