There are miles of beautiful countryside to explore form your doorstep and if you like the idea of finding a quiet pub for a relaxed lunch, there are several close by - The Half Moon in Clayhidon, The Martlett at Langford Budville and the Globe at Appley are all popular with locals. Jurston Barn is only a short stroll away from the pretty market town of Wellington, with a range of independent shops including a traditional butchers, bakers, grocers, and award-winning fishmongers, so plenty of opportunity to sample the local food! For some more serious retail therapy head for the county town of Taunton or Exeter.
If you wish to venture further afield, how about some old fashioned bucket and spade fun on one of the North Somerset beaches, or the famous Jurassic Coast (both can be reached within 45 minutes)? We'd highly recommend a visit to Lyme Regis, or Charmouth where you can go rockpooling or fossil hunting. Or have a day out amongst the softly undualting hills and lush valleys of Exmoor National Park, or the rugged wilds of Dartmoor.
You may find it difficult to tear yourself away from Jurston Barn; it's a haven of peace and tranquility. Should you need any help with anything, the helpful owners live in the neighbouring property, a listed traditional Somerset longhouse which dates back to 1280.
