Go through the electric gates, park up and get your bags out. Walk into the enormous kitchen/entertaining space; gather together to drink and chat. One side of the room the well-equipped kitchen has a long ‘bar’ to perch at, the other side, the lounge area has a sumptuous U-shape sofa.
To the left a wide hallway leads to a utility room and WC, the stairs, and the dining room with a bespoke oak table. Have florists dress it for you, hire private caterers to create a celebration feast – brilliant for birthdays, anniversaries and hen weekends. A Belfast sink, dishwasher and 2 beer coolers mean you don’t need to keep running to the kitchen.
Right of the main entrance and the kitchen/entertaining room is the spa area, ideal for private spa weekends and pampering days, with a treatment room*, beauty bar, sauna and shower room. Continue round to a rustic style bar/mini kitchen, a big sofa and the indoor hot tub. Doors open onto the courtyard, great for summer; relax in the hot tub, have cocktails on the patio and dine alfresco.
The bedrooms are arranged over two floors and all have ensuite shower rooms or bathrooms. Except for Bedroom 5, all have zip and link beds (super king or twin), giving the flexibility for all kinds of large group stays. There are country views, and a charming nod to the days when this was a farmhouse, the bedrooms are named after surrounding fields.
Bedrooms 1-5 are on the first floor; Bedroom 1 (Stone Close) is a suite with two adjoining rooms and an ensuite bathroom with a spa bath and double shower. The first room has zip and link beds, the second has bunk beds (double on the bottom/single on the top), so it’s great for a family or friends sharing. Bedroom 2 (Great Meadow) has an ensuite shower room and Bedroom 3 (Bathing Field) has a bathroom with a spa bath and separate shower. Bedroom 4 (Buck Hill) has its own shower room and at the end of the landing, Bedroom 5 (Sky Lane) has a freestanding bath in front of the window and an ensuite shower room. Step out onto the private veranda for coffee in the morning or a cheeky nightcap beneath the stars. On the top floor, with ensuite shower rooms, are Bedroom 6 (Horses Mead), Bedroom 7 (Lawn Mead) and accessed by a separate staircase, Bedroom 8 (Bushy Mead).
