The county town of Taunton is just 8 miles distant, with a good mix of high street and independent shops.  The surrounding countryside  is renowned for walking and cycling, with a plethora of tiny footpaths waiting to be explored. The North Somerset coast is only 30 minutes away, with some quiet and unspoilt beaches. There are several historic houses and gardens in the area, including Dunster Castle (NT), Cothay Manor and Hestercombe House & Gardens. For railway enthusiasts, or for a jolly day out on a good old fashioned steam train, the West Somerset Railway is nearby, and you can even combine this with a trip to the coast - all aboard, all aboard! If you enjoy a round of golf, Oake Manor Golf Club is only 2.5 miles away.
