Winter Warmers with Group Stays

Sit back, get comfortable and imagine yourself sat in front of a fire in one of our Group Stays properties. Here is our quick guide to some of our properties with fires.

We have been blessed with some unseasonable warm weather in recent weeks, admittedly there was quite a bit of rain but there hasn’t been a great need for thick coats, gloves and scarfs just yet. In the office we are hoping this is going to change, we love crisp winter mornings, the excuse for a woolly jumper and soup for lunch. Many of our Group Stays properties have open fires or wood burners making your winter stay even more enjoyable.

Having an open fire or wood burner in a property can really add an extra special touch. The property goes from being a holiday property to a home from home. Who doesn’t love to curl up with loved ones in front of a fire to read a book or watch a film? We often see romantic exchanges in films take place in front of a fire.  Noah and Allie rekindling their love for each other in front of the fire in the Notebook for example. Many of the Christmas films feature an open fire and happy families. There is definitely something comforting about the warmth, smell and sound of a fire.

We have many properties with open fires just waiting for you to cosy up next to them. Hurstone House in Somerset has several open fires and the wood is provided free of change and is plentiful having been taken from local supplies. The stone fireplaces add a regal touch and would be perfect for those special get togethers.

Berry House and The Old Rectory also have open fires which make the entertaining spaces in these large properties feel inviting. Why not light the fire, take out a board game and while away a few hours while waiting for your meal to cook?

Open fires are not for everyone though which is why some of our property owners have opted for a wood burner. Flossy Brook and Jurston Barn are examples of such properties. Perfect for warming up in front of after a long walk on the Blackdown Hills. Thorncombe and Cockercombe both have wood burners in their open plan living spaces giving a cosy feel in these large properties.

The living area in The Cottage Beyond always gets good feedback. Large, comfortable and inviting people often comment on how wonderful the wood burner is. We cant promise you that it wont rain or even snow during your stay but we can promise you a warm retreat in a fantastic property. So go on, have a look at the properties and imagine yourself making the most of winter in a Group Stays property.
