Take a trip to Cornwall and visit the rainforest Biomes. It wont matter if it is raining as you’ll keep dry and warm in the rainforest environments. Walk amongst the trees and wonder at the waterfall. Check out the gardens and allow the kids the opportunity to roam free. Bring science to life At-Bristol science center. With plenty to do over half term you’ll be able to spend a whole day discovering and still have things to do. Autumn Kitchen, planting magic beans, hands on dissections and apple pressing – what a brilliant range of activities! Learning and fun go hand in hand At-Bristol. At-Bristol is one of VisitBritain’s top 10 family attractions.
With 50 acres of woodland, lakes and temples you’ll be able to lose yourself in gardens that are truly stunning. Lovingly recreated it is a real delight. With things to find out as you walk around you’ll have an educational day as well as plenty of fresh air. Enclosed gardens, derelict army barrack hut, summerhouses, water towers and ponds make up the formal and informal gardens. Stop at the Temple Arbour and Capriccio View to rest weary legs.
If you’re stopping for a bite to eat then try the Stables Kitchen at the Entrance serving home cooked food which is delicious. If it is afternoon you are after then try the traditional high tea in the new Column Room in Hestercombe house. Stop at the shop as you leave and you’ll notice a fantastic range of plants to take home as a reminder.
Pumpkins and Potions Halloween Terror Trail – 24th October - 1st November with all manner of creepy goings on and craft activities. This activity is included in the admission price.
Dare you enter the troll’s treehouse for your trick or treat? Are you brave enough to meet a witch? Dress up in fancy dress and there will be a free pumpkin for every child!
On the 29th October the Park is open late. Rides close at 8pm.
A great range of rides, some of which are indoors you’ll never be bored. Meet the animals and listen to the talks, groom the donkeys and feed the goats. You’ll never want to leave!
If you want to experience heritage at it’s best then take a ride on the West Somerset Steam Railway. Departing at Bishops Lydeard you’ll steam your way through the best of the Somerset countryside with the last station at Minehead there is never a dull moment. Download and print off the guide and map and you’ll find plenty of history making it a day out that will be talked about for years.
